Slider the Unscooter is a new spin on an old method of transportation: the kick scooter. The kick scooter has been around for decades and is enjoying a resurgence as people look toward human powered transport. What sets the Slider Unscooter apart is the integration of exercise motions in the propulsion of the scooter.

Instead of using one leg to propel the scooter while the other stays on the platform, the Slider features a split platform. The feet never touch the ground. Each platform is attached to the center pole and is allowed to move independently of each other, giving the user the experience that is best compared to either roller blading or cross country skiing. Braking is accomplished by using a hand brake located on the handlebar.

The build quality on the Slider scooter is excellent, with real attention to detail. The 8 inch polypropylene wheels will give years of use and the tubular steel frame will hold up to 275 lbs. The frame is best suited to adults up to 6' 5", but smaller models are also available for children. The scooter comes disassembled, but assembly only takes basic hand tools and takes about 15 minutes to complete.

We really like this scooter. It has really cool looks, is a blast to use and gives us a really good workout. The learning curve isn't all that steep, and in no time we were zipping along.
